Board member Missus Tiffany Hawkins, who brought the item forward for discussion, said the district is using Title I funds to pay for a portion of VPK that the state does not cover. "So that's approximately 500,000 that we fund through our Title I," Hawkins said during the meeting, and she cautioned that total costs including salaries and benefits “maybe over a million dollars or more.”
