Davis County signs CJIS access agreements for sheriff and jail staff

Davis County commissioners approved two agreements June 10 that permit county sheriff—s office and Davis County Jail personnel to access the Utah Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) through the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI).
Chief Deputy Arnold Butcher told commissioners the agreements are effectively identical, split to cover sheriff—s office staff and jail staff separately. Each agreement runs from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and provides for training and security requirements for personnel accessing CJIS. A motion to approve both items passed by voice vote; the meeting record does not include a roll-call vote or individual vote tallies.
County officials described the items as routine annual agreements to maintain authorized access to state criminal justice databases for operational purposes.
