Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation fisheries staff on June 7 described the start of a pilot stocking of F1 hybrid bass — a cross between northern- and Florida-strain largemouth bass commonly called “tiger bass” — at three Grand Lake sites, funded by multiple private and foundation donors.
Fisheries staff said the department is stocking three locations with roughly 31,000 fish each (31,000 fish per site listed in the meeting narrative) in back creeks on Grand Lake chosen for suitable habitat and to make post-stocking monitoring more manageable.
