Davis County approves lease for Farmington American Legion Post and adopts privacy-space policy

Davis County commissioners on June 10 approved a lease allowing Farmington American Legion Post 27 to continue occupying space inside the county—s Memorial Courthouse and adopted a new county policy titled "privacy space compliance." The two items were moved and approved together.

Facilities Director Lane Rose told commissioners the American Legion has been a long-term, respectful tenant in the Memorial Courthouse and noted the courthouse—s recent renovation. The lease term in the meeting record begins June 10, 2025, and extends through June 2030. Separately, staff presented a new county policy to clarify and protect "privacy spaces" within county facilities; the policy name was changed in review to avoid confusion with data privacy and will take effect on June 10, 2025, with no sunset date.
