Superintendent Mister Howard updated the board June 5 on communications and strategic initiatives, highlighting a social-media analytics report from vendor Allerton Hill, progress on a new district website and the district’s strategic-plan work.
Administration presented metrics showing increased social-media reach and engagement: the district’s audience grew to nearly 6,000 followers, impressions rose toward 500,000, and several posts drew thousands of views. The superintendent said those results persuaded him of the platform’s value for sharing district achievements.
The district is also working on a redesigned website; the superintendent said staff members Miss Murdoch and Miss Anderson are leading the effort and that the site should be deployed soon. He credited Allerton Hill and district staff for the work and said the contract/vendor is meeting expectations.
On planning and staffing, the superintendent reviewed the strategic plan revision discussed at a board retreat and said administrators recently completed two days of professional development on professional learning communities (PLC). The district will focus on three strategic goals and five core principles and will share action steps publicly as they are developed.
Why it matters The communications and strategic-plan items affect how the district shares information with families and the community and how schools align instruction and professional learning for improved outcomes.
Ending Board members congratulated staff and the teacher recognized at the meeting; administration said it will share the strategic-plan materials with the public and continue work on the website and PLC implementation.
