At the May 27 Committee of the Whole meeting, city staff introduced a proposed memorandum of understanding (MOU) to join a countywide damage-assessment consortium that would designate two Muskego representatives to assist with countywide emergency damage assessment after large incidents.
City staff summarized the MOU as a voluntary cooperative: communities designated two people to support countywide command-area damage assessment after an event such as flooding, tornado, large fire or other county-scale emergency. Staff said designation would likely fall to the cityemergency government lead (Scott) and potentially a lieutenant from the police department, though the final designees would be set at council or chief-level direction. Staff emphasized that participation was not an obligation to send personnel for every event; communities would provide resources as incidents required.
Kate told the committee the MOU would be submitted to the full city council as a resolution for formal action. Committee members asked clarifying questions about availability and who would likely serve; staff identified Scott (emergency-government lead) and a lieutenant as probable participants in the role.
