District files CTE local application; successful application expected to yield about $3.4 million

Dr. Amy Jones told the Lenoir County Board of Education on May 5 that the district submitted its annual CTE local application to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Jones said the application is required each year to receive state and federal funds for CTE programs and services, including funds tied to PRC 13, 14 and 17. She told the board the successful application is expected to yield approximately $3,400,000 in program funding and positions for the district. Jones said the local plan has been attached for board review and that she will return next month to request board approval of the plan.
No vote was taken on the application at the May 5 meeting; the item was submitted for board review and will come back for formal approval in June.
