County approves ISU career-path and Weber State internship affiliation agreements

Phillips also presented an affiliation agreement from Weber State for a prosecutors’ criminal-justice intern (about 60 hours). He said the affiliation document is general and that the department-level supervisor (prosecutor) will execute the student-specific pages. Commissioners asked about workers’ compensation and whether funds exist in the relevant departmental budgets; Phillips confirmed the county tracks internship hours and that departments should ensure salary-approval forms and budget availability before onboarding. The board voted to approve the Weber State affiliation and the related intern paperwork during the meeting.
Commissioners asked staff to continue using centralized agreements where practical to reduce repetitive paperwork and to ensure payroll and insurance coverage are coordinated for interns. The transcript shows the board approved both agreements and the related salary-approval forms by voice vote.
