The consultants recommended shrinking the airport’s primary runway to a planning target of roughly 5,600 to 6,000 feet and reducing its width from 150 feet to as narrow as 100 feet to match FAA/TxDOT design standards they say the county is most likely to receive ongoing funding to maintain.
