Bothell Planning Commission adopts Climate Action Plan findings, asks for monitoring and resilience next steps

The Bothell Planning Commission on Oct. 1 adopted findings, conclusions and recommendations for the city’s Climate Action Plan update, voting to forward the document to City Council after editing language on projected emissions, funding status of implementation actions and monitoring requirements.

The adopted package directs staff to: clarify wording about greenhouse gas projections and energy use, add a column in the implementation table that indicates which actions have secured funding or need new resources, underscore that plan success depends on participation by citizens, businesses and partner agencies, and return to the commission and council with a monitoring and accountability approach and a proposal for additional adaptation and resilience work. "So identifying specific funding sources for those will be an early priority," said Cameron Colvin, planner, Community Development, during the presentation.
