Young County to host town hall with solar developer after closed‑door economic talks

The court was in closed session earlier under the Texas Government Code provisions for deliberations on security devices and economic development negotiations related to a solar farm. After the closed session the court returned to open session and took a public vote to schedule a large town hall meeting at a county facility such as a fire station to allow the developer’s representatives to present details and answer questions.
A court member moved to schedule the town hall and Commissioner Stacy Cresswell seconded the motion. The motion passed 5-0. Court members said county staff will coordinate scheduling and logistics with the developer and suggested using a large venue so citizens could attend and the developer could bring staff and technical personnel.
County leadership said the town hall is intended to improve transparency and provide residents an opportunity to ask questions directly of the developer and county officials. The court did not take any other formal action related to project terms during open session.
