The City Council on Oct. 14 approved a six‑month contract with Mid Valley IT for interim IT management services at a fixed monthly rate of $33,900. The contract covers an IT audit, oversight of internal IT staff, remote support, overflow onsite support, consulting, budgeting and a five‑year technology plan while the city conducts a longer‑term procurement.
City staff presented the measure as part of Phase 1 and Phase 2 budget response work: the city had eliminated some internal IT positions earlier in the cost‑saving process and still required management and continuity. The six‑month agreement totals $203,400 and is fixed‑price; staff said the agreement will avoid recurring personnel costs and will be followed by a competitive RFP for a longer‑term arrangement.
City manager (presenting) said the monthly fee is a fixed amount that includes remote monitoring software and 24/7 support; additional charges would only be for separately quoted major projects outside the monthly scope.
Council approved the resolution authorizing the agreement (Res. No. 11480) in a unanimous roll call.
