Caroline County: Multiple FADI 2023 Caroline East service areas completed; residents told how to order

David Saffler, a Caroline County staff member, said several service zones in the county's FADI 2023 Caroline East broadband project are now complete or open for sale and urged residents in those zones to contact Breezeline for service.
Saffler said that the areas GCR 04 and GCR 05, previously announced as open for sale, remain available. He listed additional completed areas and those scheduled for phased release: DCR 02 and GTR 03 are complete and can now take orders; GCR 06 and GCR 07 are complete and open for sale; GCR 01 is nearing completion but remains closed pending power from Rappahannock Electric; and several grouped areas (listed by project code) have projected release windows between the end of the year and next June. Saffler said the county, Breezeline and Verizon, with support from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, have expanded service to more than 2,011 previously unserved locations in Caroline County.
The update included specific route and road references for service zones. Saffler said DCR 02 covers Route 630 at Sparta to just west of Alice, Beverly Run Road north to Stump Road, Stump Road itself, Dodge City Road and additional streets shown on the project map. GTR 03 includes Seals Road, Sparta Road, Route 630 from Sparta to about 1.5 miles, and Route 721 from Sparta about 4 miles south to Beverly, among other streets. GCR 06 covers Mattaponi Trail from Sparta Road east of Fort Bridal Road and adjoining side roads. GCR 07 covers Sparta Road from Perimeter Road about 4 miles east toward Sparta, including Cecil Drive. Saffler also listed projected-release clusters labeled GCV 11–15 (targeted by the end of the year), GCV 16 and GCV 10 (projected for January), DCV 8–9 and 17 (projected for February), DCV 12 and GCV 12 (projected for April), and GCV 19 and 20 (projected for June). He said remaining northern areas along Ladysmith Road, the Spotsylvania County line, Page Road and east of Corbin to the river are expected between June and October of next year.
Saffler told residents who live in newly opened areas to call Reggie Spivey in Breezeline sales at (410) 490-6082 to request service. He said GCR 01 — which includes Central Point and nearby areas — is the only near-complete zone still awaiting electrical service from Rappahannock Electric before it can be released for sale.
Saffler also listed public outreach opportunities where broadband advisory committee members will be available: a community meeting hosted by Supervisor Underwood at Second Mount Zion Church on Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m.; the Bowling Green Harvest Festival on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and the Frog Level Fall Festival and Parade on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. He said the next broadband update is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. and directed residents to the Caroline County website’s broadband inquiry form for additional questions.
Saffler closed the video, saying, “Together, we'll bring the broadband to your area as quickly as possible.”
