The Murray School District Board of Education approved several routine personnel and consent items during its Oct. 2 meeting.
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda by voice vote. No individual consent items were called out for separate discussion during the meeting.
Leave of absence: The board approved a one-year unpaid leave of absence for Morgan Lamy, an eighth-year teacher at Hillcrest Junior High. Director Dean explained the leave request is for the next school year and is due to the teacher's spouse accepting work in a different location; Lamy plans to teach elsewhere during the leave and intends to return to the district for the 2027-28 school year. Dean said the leave fits district policy and that the district has previously granted similar unpaid leaves for spouse career moves.
LEA-specific license: The board approved an LEA-specific license for Jacob Mercer after a staffing change at Hillcrest Junior High. Mercer will move from a part-time role to a full-time role responsible for college and career awareness; the board was asked to approve the LEA-specific license so the state is notified that Mercer is approved for the assignment.
All three items were moved, seconded and passed by voice vote; the transcript records the motions and that each passed but does not record a roll-call vote list in the public transcript.
No other formal votes were recorded on personnel at the meeting.
