WOOSTER, Ohio — The Wooster City Council on Sept. 15 adopted multiple ordinances and resolutions to complete a small annexation and to authorize a series of public‑works and capital projects, voting unanimously on the items recorded.

The council adopted an ordinance accepting a petition to annex 1.86 acres at 1361 Mechanicsburg Road (Wayne County Auditor parcel 57‑00034). Attorney Robert Stutzman, representing property owners Robert Lee Huff and Jane Ann Huff, described the tract as “one of the few remaining islands in the city” and said the Wayne County commissioners had released the property for annexation. The council suspended the rules and approved the annexation on second motion, welcoming the property into the city.

Why it matters: The annexation brings a small, contiguous parcel into Wooster’s corporate limits and completes the service‑provision step required under Ohio law before county approval of annexations.
