The Crockett City Council nominated Doris Ball to be the city’s candidate for the Houston County Appraisal District board at the upcoming district election.
Staff outlined the nomination criteria included in the council packet: taxing units may nominate an employee or elected official only; nominees must have been county residents for the preceding two years; the presiding officer of each governing body may submit a written nomination to the chief appraiser before Oct. 15. Staff also noted the city has the option to renominate the same person if desired.
A council member moved to nominate Doris Ball; another council member seconded the nomination and the motion carried by voice vote.
The council did not discuss additional nominees at the meeting and said the item will appear again if needed prior to the Appraisal District’s filing deadline.
