A staff presenter told the board that new law requires board members to complete ethics training by Jan. 1 and recommended the Charter School Development Center’s free, recorded online course as a practical option; staff members Ziva and others had completed the course and described it as an easy, recorded webinar with an assessment that yields a certificate.
Nut graf: The board also reviewed which seats are up for reappointment this cycle; staff said Priti, Nida, Maria and Sean have terms up and indicated the board will process reappointments at the October meeting to align terms on a regular October cycle.
The presenter said the CSDC online training can be completed at each member’s own pace and that staff would help ensure completion and documentation of certificates. The board asked no substantive questions and staff confirmed they would coordinate distribution and tracking of training certificates.
Ending: Staff will follow up with individual members and will include reappointments on the October agenda.
