The Board of Public Works opened a public hearing on the City of Evansville’s Barrett Law 2025 program, heard no public comment, and approved a preliminary resolution to fund sidewalk and curb improvements for eight properties with a $160,000 preliminary budget. The board also approved eight Barrett Law contracts that staff said had been signed and returned.
David Brantley, project manager in the City Engineer’s office, told the board the preliminary resolution is the formal step in the Barrett Law process and that the package covers eight properties. Brantley said the contracts received the required signatures and that notarized forms will be on file before implementation.
Board members moved and seconded approval of the preliminary resolution and the contracts; votes were recorded by voice as aye and the motions passed. Staff noted there were no members of the public in attendance to comment during the hearing. No amendments or conditions to the contracts were reported at the meeting.
