Evansville animal commission approves three poultry licenses and renews PetSmart grooming/establishment permit

The Evansville Animal Control and Education Commission approved three poultry licenses and renewed a commercial establishment permit — including grooming services — for PetSmart during its meeting.
Staff recommended approval of poultry licenses for Timothy Hart (1103 Edgar Street), Jesse Leung (1263 Ravenswood) and Melissa Tynes (32 West Delaware). Commissioners moved and seconded each item and approved all three by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved renewal of an establishment permit for PetSmart, including grooming services, after staff said the business met requirements.
During discussion commissioners raised a separate procedural question: whether routine poultry license approvals could be delegated to animal control staff instead of requiring a full commission vote each time. Commissioners agreed to draft ordinance language that would allow animal control to issue routine poultry licenses administratively and to return proposed language to the commission for a vote at a later meeting.
Votes were recorded by voice; minutes record motions, seconders and voice approval for each item.
