The Millcreek Township School District Board of School Directors on July 17 approved a personnel report that listed resignations, retirements, hires and multiple changes of status for the 2025–26 school year and introduced the district's new J.S. Wilson Middle School principal.
The board voted by voice to approve the personnel report after a staff presentation outlining recommendations for positions at Asbury, Bell Valley, Chestnut Hill, Grandview, Tracy, Walnut Creek, Westlake, J.S. Wilson, Ridgefield and McDowell Intermediate High School. The report included hires for special-education assistant and teacher positions, a retirement of a head custodian after more than 30 years, and a change of status moving an assistant principal at McDowell Intermediate High School to principal at J.S. Wilson.
“Mister Britton” moved to approve the 07/17/2025 personnel report, and a second was recorded; the motion passed on a voice vote.
The personnel report named multiple special-education appointments: temporary professional contracts for special-education teachers in life skills and emotional-support roles, and multiple recommendations for special-education assistants in autistic- and emotional-support assignments. The report also listed extracurricular and athletic supplement appointments for the 2025–26 school year, changes of status for secretarial and attendance positions, and several coaching and support-staff resignations.
Board members asked one clarifying question during the vote process about whether a listed resignation and a listed change of status at McDowell referred to the same individual; staff confirmed they were the same person.
After the vote the board introduced Dr. Atwood, identified during the meeting as the new principal at J.S. Wilson Middle School. Speaking to the board and public, Dr. Atwood described previous service at McDowell and past administrative experience and said he looked forward to continuing the work of his predecessor at J.S. Wilson.
The meeting record shows the board also handled routine business earlier in the session, including a separate voice vote to approve the meeting agenda and a motion to adjourn later in the session.
