Dorchester County approves airport survey, equipment purchases and several state and federal grants

The Dorchester County Council voted to approve a set of procurement, grant and funding agreements at its July meeting, including a Federal Aviation Administration-funded topographical survey at the Cambridge–Dorchester Regional Airport and purchases for county wastewater and tourism operations.
County officials voted to proceed with a topographical survey of Runway 16/34 at Cambridge–Dorchester Regional Airport to support planned pavement rehabilitation. County staff said the project will be funded primarily by two Federal Aviation Administration grants totaling $90,009.32, with the remainder charged to the FY25 capital budget line item CGERW16-34 (pavement rehab). Councilor Lazard framed the approval as an upgrade of existing services; the contract for the survey will be awarded to AECOM at a total cost of $98,350. The motion passed by voice vote.
