County forestry staff announced the county will offer 15 tracts of timber for sale at a public auction on July 7 at 9 a.m. in the county meeting room. The appraised value for the 15 tracts was given as $256,434 and the sale inventory was described as 9,086 cords of mixed‑species timber.
The forestry presenter said the management plan shift produced a higher proportion of aspen and pine in this offering and that those species are selling well. The board voted to approve the auction and authorize selling tracts to the highest bidder.
No conditions or amendments to the auction authorization were recorded during the vote. Staff reported the fishing pier delivery to the shop and discussed other park and recreation items separately.
The county will accept the highest bids at the July 7 auction; sale details and bid procedures were described as those standard for county timber auctions and will be handled by the forestry office.
