Council clears five names for Planning & Zoning openings, asks staff to extend invitations

Mendon City Council approved five names to be forwarded as candidates to fill vacancies on the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Council members proposed and cleared the names of Dave Edwards, Janae Jepsen, Todd Oswald, Dean Harris and Mark Anderson for the commission. The council voted to forward those names so planning staff could contact the individuals and extend invitations to serve, after the city completes standard vetting.
The mayor asked councilors to identify additional backup candidates if any nominees decline. Councilors agreed to contact the proposed candidates and to have staff provide clearance materials so Planning & Zoning can proceed with its appointments.
Mayor and staff instructed the city clerk to prepare the necessary paperwork and to notify the nominees so planning and zoning could bring recommendations forward at a future meeting.
