District facilities staff gave the school board a multi'site capital update on June 23, detailing recently completed renovations and ongoing construction across the county, including progress at the new Pine View campus and additions at several schools.
Facilities and capital program staff described finished work from the second semester (cafetoriums, auditorium renovations, roofs and HVAC overhauls) and summer projects currently underway: Edwin's cafeteria/media center renovation, Baker 10'classroom addition, Lewis and Crestview stadium and electrical upgrades, Elliott Point roof replacement (two'phase), and Crestview band room and parking improvements.
Staff showed renderings and site progress photos of the Pine View replacement, saying classroom wings and the gym structure are advancing and that a chiller plant and cafeteria/kitchen areas are under construction. "That is what we are anticipating when it's done," a facilities presenter said while showing the latest renderings.
The update covered scope and sequencing: some work (Edwin's renovation and roof) requires multiple summers; others, such as Lewis's concession stand and Meg's front office, are nearing completion. Staff noted scheduling constraints, coordination with contractors and summer work to minimize disruption to classes. Board members asked about landscaping and replacement of mature trees and how long high'priority projects such as Edwin's renovations might take; staff said they aimed to conclude major work by mid'year target dates such as the start of the school year and suggested some projects could extend into the school year.
No formal board action was recorded; the presentation was informational and board members asked to receive the project slide deck after the meeting.
