Plaistow players on Quintown 12U win regionals, earn trip to Cal Ripken World Series

Selectman Tyler told the Plaistow Board of Selectmen on July 28 that the local Quintown 12U baseball team — nicknamed the Knuckleheads and composed of players from Plaistow, Atkinson, Newton and Chester — won both the state championship and the New England regional and will compete in the Cal Ripken World Series in Missouri starting Aug. 6.
Tyler named four Plaistow players on the roster: Gavin Chapman, Chase Dufresne, Tyler Fielding and Owen Stack. He said the team's appearance in the Cal Ripken event is a rare accomplishment for the area and encouraged residents to congratulate the players, coaches and families. Tyler noted a GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover travel costs for the team after the regional win.
Selectmen applauded the accomplishment and asked staff to share any public-stream or social-media links so residents can follow the team's games.
