Town manager reports hires, website updates after new RSA, Comcast outages and ambulance repair status

Town Manager Greg told the Plaistow Board of Selectmen on July 28 that the town has onboarded three new employees in the building, planning and administrative departments and will be onboarding the newly sworn police officer the following morning.
Greg said staff are updating the town website to add ambulance-billing information and to comply with a new RSA that requires disclosure of any amounts of money received from the state for any purpose. He also reported recent Comcast-related outages affected modems, phones and the VPN: town phones were down Monday and Tuesday and staff at the highway garage reported a firewall outage. Greg said those services were restored just before the meeting.
On emergency services, Greg said the damaged ambulance was the subject of a claim, the town received payment from its insurer and the vehicle was towed to the manufacturer for frame and equipment inspection and repairs. He said the town has continued coverage by using mutual-aid ambulances and that eastbound coverage has not been affected while the unit is in repair. Greg said the town has not yet received a final timeline from the manufacturer on repair completion.
Greg also noted that the highway department has re-signed snowplow contractors for the coming season, and that utility-assessor work and the submission of final materials for a Wilder Drive state package took place in recent weeks.
