City Manager Mark Lebowski said the staff report contained the applicant’s requested hours but the published advertisement did not match, creating a potential legal challenge if the commission acted without re‑advertising.
The meeting also included multiple proclamations and presentations (parade awards, Parks & Recreation Month, “Pass Up Plastics” month), a legislative update from State Senator Barbara Sharif and public comment on a longstanding canal‑bank problem in the Springtree West Cove community. The commission and staff told residents they will attempt to coordinate with Broward County and with the homeowners association to identify engineering, permitting and funding options and encouraged the association to form a small working committee and provide up‑to‑date documentation to staff.
