Council approves consent calendar, charter school temporary site and two maintenance-district resolutions

Lake Elsinore City Council approved multiple routine and land-use items during its July 10 meeting, moving the bulk of the consent calendar and adopting resolutions related to district maintenance and a single delinquent nuisance charge.

Council members voted 4–0 on the consent calendar items 3 through 18; Councilmember Johnson was absent. Item 14, pulled for public comment, authorized a temporary license to use a portion of the Albert Hill Ranch Community Park parking lot as a charter school site while a permanent site on Riverside Drive is completed. Kim Cousins, president and CEO of the Lake Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce and a Riverside County Office of Education trustee, spoke in favor of the charter school's use of the facility; she said the Riverside County Office of Education had approved the charter at the county level.

The successor agency consent calendar, consisting of two items, also passed 4–0.

At public hearings, the council adopted two resolutions to place the Landscaping and Street Lighting Maintenance District (No. 1) for fiscal year 2025–26 on the rolls; the council voted 4–0 to adopt both resolutions. Later the council held and closed a public hearing to confirm placement of delinquent nuisance abatement charges for fiscal year 2025–26 on the tax roll; staff said there is one parcel affected. Council adopted the related resolution 4–0. Staff briefed the council that the nuisance abatement action is taken pursuant to Government Code section 39574 and Chapter 8.18 of the Lake Elsinore Municipal Code.

Votes and motions noted in the meeting record included a motion to move the balance of consent items by Councilman Manos, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem McGee, which carried 4–0. The motion to approve the temporary license for the charter school (item 14) was moved by Councilman Manos, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem McGee, and carried 4–0.
