Emmertson said the foundation began in 2017 and has since raised progressively larger donations for local organizations; he said the event planned for July 26 is already sold out for golf and that the one‑day event typically raises more than $30,000 for local youth programs.
Examples of recent donations include $5,000 to the Roundhouse youth program to support summer workshops, $5,000 to Project Bag (an organization that fills backpacks with supplies and weekend food), support for school music and mental‑health programs, and sponsorship of the Yo Bro program that connects students with mentors and community speakers. The foundation also awards a $4,000 scholarship to a graduating senior each year, with payments structured as $1,000 per year while the recipient remains in school.
For 2025 the foundation introduced a travel raffle: Emmertson said organizers will sell up to 300 tickets at $100 each with one winner selecting among several $7,000 vacation packages (airfare and hotels included). He said the raffle proceeds go directly to foundation programs and that the organization is 100% volunteer run — board members and professional services (CPA, website hosting) are donated.
Emmertson asked for business sponsorships and donations of auction items; he said dinner tickets are available for $50 and that the group aims to maximize the portion of proceeds directed to programs.
