Loudon planning panel approves Tennessee National master-plan amendment and final plat; developer provides TDEC closure letter for fly ash site

The Loudon City Planning Commission voted to approve a master-plan amendment (Application 182) for the Tennessee National development and to approve a related final plat (Application 183) that adds two pods and 73 lots, the commission announced after a motion passed by voice vote.

The approvals were for an amendment to the master plan filed by applicant Tyler Gross on behalf of Tennessee National LLC (Application 182) and a final plat for lots 29–30 and other pods (Application 183). Planning staff said the final plat work addresses previously approved design standards and noted a nearby 195-foot cell tower that required shifting some lots to meet setbacks.

He asked that the record show limited certainty about whether earlier operators had stayed within the documented boundaries. Commissioners acknowledged the concern but said the TDEC closure letter and the geotechnical borings on file were the available evidence for the record.
