USD 383 board adopts agenda and consent agenda; accepts $16,018.81 in donations

The Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 board of education unanimously adopted the meeting agenda and approved the consent agenda at its July 16 meeting.

A motion to adopt the agenda was made by board member Christine, seconded by board member Katie; the board voted "Item passes 6 0." A later motion to approve the consent agenda was made by board member Kurt, seconded by board member Carla; the board voted "Item passes 6 0."

The consent agenda included bills and financial reports, the human-resources report, donations and grants, the early-learning monthly report, annual federal financial reports and revised program policies (IC education program; ID instruction program; IDA educational program). Donations listed in the consent agenda packet and called out during the meeting included:

- $750 from Kansas Association for the Conservation and Environmental Education for district waste-and-recycling programs - $1,000 from Pilot Club of Manhattan for Flint Hills Summer Fun Camp supplies - $750 from Cowboy Running Inc. to Manhattan High School for track-team supplies - $2,400 from Polly Ogden Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, to USD 383 for updated colonial American-history library books - $500 from Heartland Corvette Club to USD 383 for fit-closet supplies - $10,618.81 from Alpha Z Delta Sorority to USD 383 for fit-closet supplies

Those donations were listed in the consent packet and the board recorded a total of $16,018.81 in the meeting remarks. No separate discussion or amendment of the consent agenda items was recorded during the vote.
