The Marin County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution July 15 to continue the Rush Creek Lighting and Landscaping District and to confirm its diagram and assessment for the fiscal year.
Jim Chica, superintendent with Marin County Parks, told the board this action represents the fourth step in a four-step renewal process for the special district, which was formed about 30 years ago to fund landscape maintenance, equestrian and pedestrian path maintenance, vegetation and drainage management and related services. The board held a public information meeting in advance to gather questions from residents.
Staff presented a parcel assessment for the district of $1,355.48 for the coming year, which represents a 3% increase from the prior year. The 3% change follows an annual inflationary adjustment that is part of the district's assessment model and was implemented after the district's recent ballot initiative. The county used Willdan Financial Services to prepare the assessment diagram and calculations.
No members of the public asked questions during the hearing. Supervisor Lucan moved and Supervisor Milton Peters seconded the resolution; the board approved the continuation and confirmed the assessment by voice vote.
