The Benbrook City Council on July 17 ratified the Benbrook Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) budget for fiscal year 2025–26 after a presentation from BEDC Director Jessica James.
James told council the proposed BEDC budget totals $1,201,391. She said the BEDC board recommends project funding described in the 5700 accounts, including a façade and signage matching grant of up to $20,000 per property and an anticipated carryover of $500,000 for previously approved incentives. She said $25,000 is allocated for Benbrook Boulevard work and the proposed administrative budget is $526,391, approximately $2,000 lower than the previous year. James said the board held a public hearing on June 16, 2025, with no citizen comments.
Councilmember Tyner moved to approve the BEDC budget for fiscal year 2025–26; Councilmember Mackey seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
