Benbrook council orders Nov. 4, 2025 general election and authorizes joint election with Tarrant County

The Benbrook City Council on July 17 adopted a resolution ordering a general election for Nov. 4, 2025, for mayor (Place 1) and city council Places 3, 5 and 7 and authorized the mayor to execute a joint election agreement with Tarrant County Elections.
City Secretary Beth Fisher told council the filing period for candidates opens at 8 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2025, and closes at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2025. Fisher said the city is requesting a joint election agreement because Tarrant County is a vote center; county voters “are allowed to cast their ballots in any polling place in the county during early voting and election day.” She said Tarrant County will provide voting equipment, polling places and trained election officials and will handle required Justice Department submissions.
The resolution directs the mayor to enter an election contract with Tarrant County; Exhibit A to the resolution lists early-voting and election-day locations and will be updated as the county finalizes participating sites. Fisher said the cost assessed to Benbrook will be calculated in accordance with the number of political subdivisions contracting for the election.
Councilmember (Doctor) Marshall moved adoption of Resolution No. 2025-03 ordering the general election and authorizing the mayor to enter the election contract; Councilmember Franklin seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
