The Broken Arrow City Council on a roll-call vote approved awarding the Carriage Crossing Residential Roadway Rehabilitation Project to Cherokee Pride Construction Inc., the project—s lowest responsible bidder.
Travis Small, engineering construction, told the council the city advertised the project May 27 and June 3 and received Cherokee Pride—s low bid of $1,427,226.75. "The engineer's estimate was $1,966,581.10," Small said, and staff recommended awarding the contract.
Council discussion was brief and positive; a council member said, "I love it when we can make our neighborhoods look better," before moving to approve. Another council member seconded the motion and the council proceeded to roll call and approval.
The contract covers rehabilitation of streets within the Carriage Crossing neighborhood and a small portion of Marl Ridge, plus associated miscellaneous improvements shown in the project design package. Small said the work is a city-street rehabilitation project within those neighborhoods and offered to answer questions.
Councilors did not specify a contract start date or final completion deadline during the briefing. The project—s engineer estimate and the awarded bid are recorded in the council packet; funding source was not specified in the public remarks during the adoption.
The project award will allow staff to proceed with contract execution and scheduling with Cherokee Pride Construction Inc. Staff contact: Travis Small, Engineering Construction.
