The board also recognized the 2024 state superintendents visual art exhibit, 50 schools and 30 school systems for the legislative school performance program award, proclaimed February 2024 as Alabama School Counseling Week and Alabama Career and Technical Education Month, and declared March 2024 Arts Education Month in Alabama schools.
During the same meeting the board approved educator preparation programs at Auburn University at Montgomery, Spring Hill College, Talladega College and the University of Mobile.
