Local fitness center reports membership gains, revenue near break-even, tells county commissioners

The presenter said 2 Peaks reached an all-time high of 130 members in April and ended June with 117 members, compared with 78 members at the same time last year. “Since November, we have been over 100 members a month,” the representative said, noting membership is seasonal and visits typically fall in warmer months.
The speaker said March had a monthly high of 1,037 visits. The facility’s operating account balance was reported at about $30,738. The representative said payroll is the largest expense and that the center is staffed weekdays from 7 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.; the facility is not staffed on weekends but members may use a door code for access.
The presenter described recent marketing efforts, including free advertising and social-media promotion, and cited a short-term membership promotion to encourage sign-ups. The representative said staffing currently covers the facility’s open hours but emphasized continued outreach to maintain membership and revenue.
Commissioners did not take formal action on the update.
