Board approves 2025-26 salary and classification guide updates for St. Mary Parish schools

The St. Mary Parish School Board on July 10 approved updates to the 2025-26 comprehensive salary and classification guide after a presentation by Miss Estebay, a district staff member.

Estebay told the board the packet reflected date changes and several substantive edits: schedule date corrections for LDOE-certified and support staff stipends, removal of obsolete residency-stipend language, a new allotment adjustment for large junior high/middle schools' coach allotments, the addition of a purchasing agent designation, a corrected salary multiplier for chief accountant (changed from 1.35 to 1.45), and the addition of a human resources manager and an Assistant Superintendent of Operations title. "On page 4, we change the date for the LDOE certified and support staff stipends," Estebay said, and noted other items already approved previously but not reflected in the guide.

Miss Dennis made a motion to approve the guide revisions and Miss Anselm seconded. The board approved the motion by voice vote: "All those in favor, say aye," followed by "Any opposed? Motion carries." No roll-call tally was recorded.

Board members asked clarifying questions during the presentation about the date changes and the role/title edits; Estebay responded that some changes had been previously approved and were being added to the published guide. The board did not specify additional amendments to the guide during the meeting.
