Parks board approves $5,000 ‘platinum’ sponsorship for Sellersburg Celebrates

Amy Campbell reviewed past sponsorships and said the parks department did platinum in 2021 and 2022 at $5,000, moved to silver ($1,000) in 2023, and returned to platinum in 2024. Board members voted to provide the platinum sponsorship again; a board member said the town will verify whether the platinum package includes 10 tickets as it did last year and may request those tickets in the sponsorship reply.
Charlie Smith noted the parks department typically does not set up a booth space as part of the donation. The motion to approve the platinum sponsorship was made and seconded and the board voted in favor. The parks department expects the sponsorship decision and any ticket arrangements to be confirmed with event organizers after the vote.
Board members also noted a forthcoming request from the American Legion for a street-dance contribution and discussed budgeting multiple event donations (Sellersburg Celebrates, Legion street dance and fireworks) within current budget expectations.
