The Forney City Commission approved preliminary plats to establish boundary lines and easements for auto-body repair facilities north of FM 1641. One preliminary plat (identified in staff materials as a two-lot design) covers roughly 10.3 acres and is intended to create the site for a new auto-body repair facility; a separate, related preliminary plat for an adjacent parcel on Currancy/Currency Circle received similar approval.
Staff said the plats were designed in compliance with the city’s zoning and subdivision ordinances and recommended approval. During the hearing staff explained a recommended emergency-services approach for addressing because conventional address numbers were not available on the stretch of FM 1641: the fire lane will be named, and Kaufman County 911 addressing will locate the property using the named fire lane.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval and the motion carried; the plats now proceed to final-plat steps and permit review as appropriate.
