Trust board seeks usage reporting from grant recipients to measure public benefit

Board member Virgil and others said knowing how frequently and how many people use grant-funded facilities (for example, how often a pavilion or skate park is used) would help the board evaluate community benefit when deciding grants. "That would be useful as far as the community is concerned also," a board member said, urging the addition of usage metrics to progress reporting.
Staff agreed to revise the grant application and reporting template to require an estimate of anticipated usage and to include usage/activity data in monthly progress reports. The board noted that reporting should be proportionate so it does not unduly burden small volunteer groups.
