Greer announces July 15 election filing window, Dine on Trade and Moonlight Movies dates

At its July 2025 meeting, Greer City Administrator Merriman reminded the council that filing for the November election opens at 12 p.m. July 15 and closes at 12 p.m. Aug. 15, and announced upcoming downtown events.
Merriman emphasized that the filing period is time-stamped and begins at noon on July 15 rather than at the start of business hours. He said, in part, that filing “begins July 15 at 12:00, not 8 a. M.”
The administrator also promoted downtown events: “Join us downtown Greer under our lights for an extended outdoor dining, shopping, and entertainment for the return of Dine on Trade. This will be July 17 from 5 till 9,” he said. He added a reminder about Moonlight Movies, noting a Thursday screening in July from 6 to 10 p.m. that will feature the film Toy Story; the transcript does not specify the exact date for the Moonlight Movies screening.
Merriman closed by offering to provide additional information to council members on request.
