The Pryor Creek Planning and Zoning Commission voted June 13 to recommend that city council approve a rezoning for property listed under applicant Casey Cowan to allow a campground and RV park.
The parcel’s legal description was read into the record and the applicant (represented at the hearing) said the intent is to rezone from residential mobile home (RMH) to commercial automotive/recreation (CER) to develop a campground and RV area. The applicant stated, "we're just trying to bring the RV park there so we could rezone it and put it in for you guys."
Commissioners asked procedural questions but had no recorded substantive objections. The recorded vote on the recommendation was: Mike Dunham — yes; Randy Gibbs — yes; Goodman — yes; Gina Alvis Watts — no; Dennis Nance — yes. The motion passed.
Commission discussion and the record did not include detailed site plans, operating conditions or specific permit restrictions; those matters will be addressed at the permitting stage and by city council review. The commission noted the applicant had previously provided materials to the board.
The recommendation will be forwarded to city council for final action.
