U.N. reports convoy deliveries and milestone in Ukraine shelter repairs amid ongoing attacks

The United Nations said Thursday that recent attacks in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia caused multiple civilian casualties and damage to residential areas, and that a U.N.-led convoy delivered aid to communities in Mykolaiv.
U.N. humanitarian colleagues reported that nearly 60 people were injured in morning attacks that sparked fires in residential neighborhoods. Separately, a U.N.-led convoy delivered 10 metric tons of aid, including hygiene kits and shelter materials, to communities in Mykolaiv.
UNHCR reported that it has reached a milestone repairing more than 40,000 homes damaged by the war, work that U.N. officials said enables families to return or remain in their communities. Since the full-scale invasion began, UNHCR has also provided emergency shelter kits and materials to some 470,000 people, agency figures cited in the briefing said.
The U.N. said humanitarian partners continue work across Ukraine to support the response, while noting the overall humanitarian plan for Ukraine is only 32% funded with about $848,000,000 available.
Ending: U.N. agencies said continued funding is needed to sustain shelter repairs and emergency assistance for millions affected by the conflict.
