The consent calendar passed on a single motion and included minutes from prior meetings, approvals for the Westland Professional Firefighters Local 1279 charity “Fill the Boot” collection dates, a resolution authorizing the Westland Community Foundation to apply for a one-day liquor license for “Christmas in July” at City Hall on July 25, 2025, traffic-control order 202502 to add “school days only” signage on Caseville Court, a one-year City Hall security card contract with NAIAS Security LLC for $60,000 (07/01/2025–06/30/2026), a 60-month lease agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management for four new police patrol vehicles at $1,393.79 per vehicle per month, a land resolution for 33720 Melton, and adoption of ordinance 2488119 to change zoning at 37415 Cherry Hill to an office-business district designation.
Council then moved and approved payment of vouchers after brief questions about a Visa receipt for conference fees; Director Adams said supporting documentation would be provided the following day. The vouchers motion was discussed briefly and approved unanimously.
The council also confirmed the reappointment of Jason Friess to the Downtown Development Authority for a four-year term effective upon council approval and expiring July 18, 2029; the motion passed unanimously.
All consent calendar items and the reappointment were approved by voice vote with no recorded dissent.
