They said current practice adjusts threshold figures for inflation but the code text still shows outdated dollar amounts, creating confusion for bidders and staff. The legislation replaces outdated numbers with clearly defined concepts and current dollar figures timed to the fiscal year and CPI adjustments, the presenters said.
Regina Chan explained the operational consequence: the administrative code online can show different numbers than the amounts departments use, and the proposed ordinance harmonizes the code text with current practice. No members of the public spoke on the item. The committee moved the ordinance to the full Board with a recommendation and the motion passed without objection (Vice Chair Cheryl, President Mandelman and Chair Walton voted "aye").
