Staff planner presented a site-plan application for the South Water Manor addition at the corner of Factory Street and South Water Avenue on about 2.1 acres in the Commercial Services district. The proposal calls for two 2,256-square-foot, two-story stacked shipping-container buildings expected to yield about 22 lease units, with ample parking and an on-site detention pond.
"They will need to have an alternative elevation," staff said, referencing the city's architectural-material standards; the applicant's representative, Lisonbee Turner of Greenwood Design, said the owner will be present at the Planning Commission meeting and the design team will address staff comments.
Staff noted the parking plan includes about 50 spaces where 28 are required and that the lot will be lit and will include a photometric plan. No vote or formal decision occurred at the work session.
