Rexburg City Council voted to surplus two street sweepers described by Public Works Director Keith Davidson as inoperable or needing hydraulic repair; motion moved by Council member Colin Erickson and seconded by Council President Walker and passed by voice vote.
Rexburg City Council approved a motion to declare two city street sweepers surplus equipment after a staff report said they have not been used for several years and are mechanically deficient.
Keith Davidson, Rexburg's Public Works Director, presented the item and described the machines as "fixer uppers," saying, "The engines I think the back engine on 1 doesn't run. On the other 1, I think it's all the hydraulics are shot on it." He told the council the sweepers have been out of regular use for several years and are being offered for surplus sale.
Council member Colin Erickson moved to surplus the two sweepers; Council President Walker seconded the motion. The council approved the surplus by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
The council did not discuss sale method or reserve price at the meeting; staff said the machines are being offered as-is and may be of interest to buyers willing to repair them.
No additional follow-up actions or budgetary allocations were approved at the meeting.
