Wake Forest staff to begin townwide sustainability plan; selected proposal fits existing budget

"We received 14 responses, which was quite a bit," Carrie Grace said, and the selected firm provided a scope of work, a 16-month timeline and a proposed budget of $160,510. Staff reviewed the proposal and said it fits within the amount already approved in the town budget, so the contract award does not require formal board approval at this meeting.
The consultant scope and steps were not debated at length in the meeting; staff described this as a project that supports the town strategic plan goal to develop a townwide sustainability plan. Staff said they would proceed with project development and return with materials and public-engagement steps as the planning process progresses.
