Grand Prairie, Texas Golf Association launch free adaptive golf clinics at Prairie Lakes; championship set for Oct. 20, 2025

The City of Grand Prairie and the Texas Golf Association are offering free adaptive golf clinics at Prairie Lakes Golf Course for people with physical, sensory or learning disabilities, a city staff member said. The next clinic is planned for October, and Prairie Lakes will host the 2025 Texas Adaptive Golf Championship on Oct. 20, 2025.

The clinics provide adaptive golf coaches for hands‑on instruction intended to lower barriers that prevent people with disabilities from playing the sport. “The TGA is dedicated to reducing the barriers that prevent people from playing golf,” a city staff member said, adding that the program matches the city’s stated priorities of accessibility, connection and community.

Another speaker emphasized inclusivity, saying, “We want to be all inclusive, and we want everybody that wants to play golf to play golf and learn to play golf.” A different department staff member said the department is "all in" on the program and that it will showcase the city’s golf course.
